e-AAGH.net's 2009 Redesign: Complete!
It's taken me over a month, with allot of trial-and-error,
many re-designs and allot of correspondence with Beta, but it's finally
complete. e-AAGH.net relaunches itself today, with great visual and functional
improvements. Here's a few of the highlights.
First off, the new color scheme, which old timers will
remind you isn't really very new at all. In fact, this site started out with a
gold-and-silver look. Beta and I decided to keep the basic green/blue/white look
for the logo, but go for gold and dark blue in the main design. I'm happy with
what I've come up with, and while it is a little busier then I'd planned, I'm
satisfied. You may notice the slim gold pinstripe in the main logo as well.
Next of note is the re-design of the reviews. Hop on to any
review and you'll see that I've accented the reviews with box art,
developer/publisher information, and links to other reviews of the product (for
different systems) on the site. I went ahead and changed the section headers as
well, going for a unique yet uniform look. The 'gemstone' buttons with the
gradient pattern for the selection bar on the left was pure aesthetics.
Finally, and most obviously, I've greatly widened the whole
site. This is to accommodate more information per page and better
facilitate the inclusion of the data boxes on the reviews. I had
previously shrunk the site down, horizontally, due to complaints that it was too
wide. I've hopefully struck a happy medium here, but let me know if there are
future problems.
On a final note, I've added an ad bar to the front page,
but it primarily covers links to sites on the e-AAGH.net network. If you want to
see about advertising there, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
That's all for now, folks. I hope you like what you see and
can appreciate the effort that's gone in to it. Alphasim out.
